To park in Chicago, you can park on the street at meter parking or use an open to the public parking garage. It is tough to find an open meter spot when downtown, but most entrances to parking garages display if space is available. 

You'll need to find an open parking meter spot to park on the street in Chicago. Meter fees vary, but most accept coins or major credit cards. Street parking is also free on Sunday unless noted by the meter spot. If you can't find a parking place on the street, look for one of the many available parking garages. 

Like all large metropolitans, Chicago can be a little tricky to drive in, and you'll probably see some reckless and aggressive drivers. However, driving in most Chicago suburbs is easy once you get further from downtown. Don't be deterred from driving in Chicago if that best suits your trip to the Windy City!

Weekday rush hour in Chicago typically lasts from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with the evening rush hours being generally more congested than the morning drivetimes. On weekends, traffic times vary, but roads tend to be busiest from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
