Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is Optional,
Customer is liable for full value of the Budget vehicle if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken. Purchase of CDW reduces liability to an amount between 1100.00 EUR and 3000.00 EUR depending on car group rented in the event of an accident to the Budget vehicle. Customer may be asked to leave damage responsibility as a deposit if CDW is not taken.
Theft Protection (TP) is Optional - TP is included in included in CDW
Customer is liable for the full value of the Budget vehicle if Theft Protection (TP) is not taken. Purchase of TP reduces liability to an amount between 1100.00 EUR and 3000.00 EUR depending on car group rented for theft of parts or all of the Budget vehicle.
If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Budget rental desk when you collect your car.
Super Collision Damage waiver (SCDW) Super Theft Protection (STP) is an excess reduction product which reduces your excess up to zero and for certain car categories up to EUR 520. The price depends on the vehicle but typically ranges between EUR 25 and EUR 60 per day.
Global insurance coverages are always subject to change. Please verify at time of rental.
Cash: Cash may be used for the payment of rental charges only, but a credit card must be presented as well. Cash may not be used for the deposit.
Debit Cards: Debit cards are not accepted for the car hire pre-authorisation
Credit Cards: A credit card in the name of the main driver must be produced at the time of rental.

For certain vehicles, two payment cards in your name may be required, one of which must be a credit card and the second the payment card used to make the booking.
A deposit will be taken to cover any costs in case of damage or theft.

Other requirements
Before we release the vehicle to you, we require a pre-authorisation on your credit card. This means that the bank holding your credit card will reserve an amount towards your spending limit, which will be unblocked once the car is returned. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any discrepancies in the amount paid and refunded due to foreign exchange rates and banking charges.
If you choose to pre-pay in advance, please be aware that there will be no refund of the prepaid amount if the final cost of the car rental is less than the prepaid voucher. For example, if you return the car early and have unused days left. Additionally, if you return any optional products early, you may lose the benefit of any special offer associated with those products, resulting in a higher overall charge.
Debit cards are not accepted.
Drivers must bring the valid driving licence with them. Please note only by showing presenting the physical driving licence the Budget staff will allow you to drive the Budget car in Cyprus. You cannot pick up a car with a digital driving licence. If your licence was issued in a non-Roman alphabet, an international driving permit will be required. Note that an International Driving Permit is necessary especially for visits longer than 30 days in Cyprus. However, for a paper driving licence or a licence from Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man, you may need a 1949 IDP for any length of visit.

When you rent a Budget vehicle, Third Party Liability coverage is included in the rental price. This coverage protects drivers of other cars in case of damage, including damage to passengers and their property, up to the minimum legal requirement. You will not have to pay any costs for their liability.
However, this coverage does not apply to any injuries suffered by the driver of the Budget vehicle or damage to personal items inside the vehicle. Additionally, Third Party Liability coverage will not apply if the accident was caused by breaking the rental contract, breaking the law, or due to negligence or recklessness.
If a vehicle is involved in an accident with a Budget car, the driver must wait for the insurance company indicated by Budget to record the accident and photograph the vehicles. The driver must also complete and send a Budget Vehicle Incident Report the same day or the next day. Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the primary driver. Additional Driver fees may apply for all additional drivers. Check at the time of rental for complete details.
You can drive a Budget car if you are 21 years and older with a driving licence for at least 3 years old for the car groups A, B, H.
Drivers aged 25 years old and older with a driving licence valid for at least 1 year can drive car groups: C, D, F, M and P. Additionally, drivers aged 25 years old and older with a driving licence valid for at least 3 years can drive car groups: E, G, J, N, and O.
Drivers aged 30 years old and above, can drive car groups I and L, provided that they hold a driving licence for at least three years.
Underage Driver Fee (under 25): 10.00 EUR per day, maximum 10 day charge.
Estimated total includes base rate, taxes, and surcharges. Items such as coupon discounts, child safety seats and gas are NOT included in the estimated total. Optional coverages and one-way fees are subject to tax in certain locations. This tax is not reflected in the Estimated Total.
Estimated total is subject to change based upon exchange rates at the time of rental.
When you rent a vehicle, it will come with a full tank of fuel. To avoid any additional charges, please make sure to return the car with a full tank of fuel. At the end of your rental, you must refuel the vehicle at the closest gas station and keep your receipt as proof. If you return the vehicle without a full tank of fuel or cannot show a fuel receipt from a nearby gas station, you will be charged. This charge will include the cost of the missing fuel and a refuelling fee of EUR 20.00. The cost of fuel is based on market prices, including tax.
If you wish, you have the option to pay for fuel at the start of the rental and then return the vehicle with an empty tank.
Additional drivers must meet the same requirement as the primary driver. Additional Driver Fee: 5.00 EUR per day, per additional driver.
As the registered owner of a vehicle, we will be notified by relevant authorities if a traffic offense occurs in order to identify the driver. We will charge an administration fee for this service to cover our costs. Please note, if you wish to dispute the offense, the authorities must be contacted directly by the driver. Details on the dispute process and contact information for the authority will be provided on the re-issued penalty charge notice.
If you wish to extend your car rental beyond the end date and time on your agreement, please give us a 24-hour notice at the latest. Extra days will be charged at the 'pay at location' prices and extension is subject to the vehicle's availability. Please be aware that returning the car beyond the agreed time will void the insurance.
In Cyprus, children are required to use a child car seat until they reach a height of 135cm. Before driving away, it is important to ensure that the car seat is installed correctly.
If any of the additional items / extras are lost, stolen, or damaged, you will be responsible for replacing them at market price.
Using a handheld mobile phone, tablet, or other communication device while driving is illegal in many countries, including Cyprus. It is your responsibility to drive safely and abide by the laws of the country you are driving in.
Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited. If we suspect that smoking has occurred during the rental period, you will be charged a specialist cleaning fee.
If the interior of the vehicle is excessively dirty, muddy, stained, or has an unpleasant odor, a cleaning fee ranging from EUR 30.00 to EUR 90.00 will be applied.
If you fail to extend your rental and return the vehicle late, we will charge you for the additional days at local rates and a late return administration fee for each day.
If you are a local resident, you may be asked to provide us with a copy of your utility bill. In case you fail to provide us our staff may refuse to provide a car.
Our staff may refuse to provide a car if they believe the driver is unfit to drive or if anyone in the group is behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, or putting others' safety at risk. In such cases, the lessee will not receive a refund or compensation.
The customer is not permitted to use the vehicle in the following ways: carrying more people than it is licensed for,
transporting goods in violation of customs regulations or any other illegal manner,
carrying passengers or property for any form of payment,
towing any vehicle or trailer,
participating in motor sport events,
driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs,
or allowing anyone else to operate the vehicle without the lessor's written consent.
Additionally, the customer may not carry anything with a strong smell or that could damage the car, install a roof rack or luggage carrier, transport live animals, rent the car to others
What countries am I allowed to take the vehicle to?
You are permitted to drive Budget cars within the Republic of Cyprus, as well as the Army Bases of Dhekelia, Akrotiri, and the U.N. Buffer Zone. However, taking the vehicle off the island is strictly prohibited. Also, it is not allowed to drive a Budget car across the Green Zone. Finally, it is important to note that the Northern part of the island, which is occupied by Turkish military forces, is off-limits for Budget cars.
Under no circumstances is crossing the border permitted. Additionally, transporting the vehicle out of Cyprus on a ferryboat is strictly prohibited.
It is prohibited to take rental vehicles out of the country or into the Northern Part Area, which is currently occupied by Turkish military forces.
